Playita IBIZA has partnered with Ibiza Preservation Fund to finance very needed environmental projects in Ibiza and Formentera.

1€ from the price of each product will contribute to fund key environmental initiatives, related to freshwater and marine protection.

The Ibiza Preservation Fund (IPF) aims to help preserve Ibiza’s exceptional beauty and natural value, currently threatened by mass tourism development, and to promote sustainable initiatives.

The Fund raises money from people from all over the world who care about Ibiza’s future. Funds raised will be used to support cutting-edge environmental initiatives, carried out by organizations on the island, or other Spanish groups that try to influence policies that affect the island.

The Fund was set up in 2008, by William Aitken and Serena Cook, both of whom have a long-standing personal connection with Ibiza. William and Serena have drawn on the support of Ben Goldsmith in creating the IPF, given Ben’s experience setting up The Manuka Club to help support local environmental groups in the United Kingdom.

The Fund is supported administratively by The Ecology Trust, an English grant-making charity established by the Goldsmith family in 2003 (charity number 1099222). Funds raised for the Ibiza Preservation Fund are held in the Ecology Trust’s account, to be used to support work identified locally as a priority.

IPF staff is minimal, with one person based in Ibiza in charge of day to day management and coordination work, assisted by a UK and a Spanish advisor with a long-standing expertise in environmental work.

Since 2015, IPF has evolved into the Fundación para la Conservación de Ibiza y Formentera, an important step towards the consolidation of our work in the Pitiusas.

The Fundación is new Spanish entity legally independent, of Balearic scope, to better root ourselves in these islands.

The Foundation aims at combining its international spirit with the addition of local experts, building bridges between the international and local communities, and between NGOs, business organization and public entities.

We are very happy to be able to help and care for our Islands, and we would be very happy if you do too!
